Things I feel we need to clarify:
- · Who our target audience is. I think we need to put more thought into this. Shop-wise, undoubtedly, we will find some of this easier to define once we spend some more time out there. I think running a survey or two will help with who is coming in to use the shop.
- · Because Earthlink is such a multi-legged beast, are we going to cover every part of the business? Demographic-wise, it’s difficult to direct towards donors AND shoppers and then trainees on top of all that. Should we just stick to the donors and the shoppers? But then, the shopper group is so diverse.
- · At one point, we were talking about how we wanted to make things easier for them. Do we need to revisit this within our SPP?
Questions to ask Shirley/Maurice:
- · What would Shirley like us to focus on?
- · We need to meet up with their social media guy, (Rob?) and find out how he works. (I’ve looked at their Trademe pages and I believe they need help there too, but Maurice does this)
- · What software do they have? Anything good for layout? If they don’t, does that mean we need to find a free program that they can use? (and then there’s the ensuing instructions on how to use it within our templates)
- · Any video editing software?
- · Does anyone there have a decent smart phone/camera for that purpose?
- · And I’d like to know to what level NZQA does their Certificate course meets?
What anyone of us needs to research:
- · To analyse their Facebook and Twitter content – their likes/followers, who they are following. Are they following other similar communities and organisations?
- · Mock up of a before and after repurposing. (Helena and Rowena?)10 things to do with a jar… etc…
- · What community newspapers are in the greater Hutt Valley. How much an ad would cost to put in. (this can be coupled with a self-written article)
- · Look at the drive in/approach to Earthlink, coming in from both directions.
- · Funding options. Helena and I are keen on doing a stall, mainly for the fun of it. We will fill jars (from the shop) with all sorts, get photos (which could potentially go on the Facebook page) and talk with people about repurposing. So it’s also research. And any money we make, will be given to the group. Whether to publicise Earthlink or just keep it amongst ourselves, I don’t know. Should we have a flier to give out to those who are interested?
- · Look up Pledgeme, Kickstarter, Boosted.
- · Find good video editing phone apps.
- · Costings of signage. (Once we know what the signage is that we’d want)
